Mike Jeffries – Drums. Mike started playing drums at around 13 years of age, mainly on biscuit tins to records.
By the time he was in his twenties he was doing gigs in pubs and nightclubs all over London playing a variety of genres including Dixieland and accompanying variety acts and doing strip clubs. He also had a regular gig at the infamous Mandrake Club in Soho. Mike then had a brief spell, with his brother Peter on piano, backing Kenny Lynch and Jimmy Tarbuck shows in various venues around the Home Counties and beyond.
Latterly, Mike has been involved with local jazz venues, West of London, where he has played with, Bill Le Sage, Jim Mullen, Vasilis Xynopolos, Nigel Price, Simon Spillett, Al Nichols, Steve Waterman, Duncan Lamont and many others. He also has his own band "In the Pocket" which plays more funky jazz.
Recently, Mike joined the Louisiana Rhythm Kings and is back to playing Dixieland as well.
