Band Info

Dennis Vick – Clarinet, saxophone and Band Leader. I began following jazz bands in the late 50’s, running and organising trips to jazz venues and all night jazz events. Then one day my wife said to me in 1973 why don’t you take up the clarinet as I was talking about learning to play jazz. So I bought a clarinet when I was 35 years old and had lessons for two years with Terry Marshall son of Jim Marshall (Marshall Amplifications). I then formed The Fenny Stompers Jazz Band in 1977 and it took off. We have had several changes in band personnel over the years, Brian my brother and me being the only original members. The band now in its 39th year and play once or twice a week wherever we are wanted. My only regret is I wish I had taken up the clarinet when I was younger as I am now reaching my 80th birthday. But my wife said 39 years is more than enough!!!!!!
