Band Info

Dave Arnold – Double Bass and Sousaphone. Now retired after a life in the Building trade, Dave started learning drums in his early teens around 1964 playing in groups around the Hempstead area mainly influenced by the Blues, Soul and Pop culture of the sixties and later playing standards around clubs and restaurants in a piano and drums duo and occasionally with his father’s dance band. Returning to music after a 15 year break he joined a country band and then 50/60’s covers band in Milton Keynes. Although playing frequently with various other jazz bands over the years, he has been a stalwart member of the Fenny Stompers since joining in 1990 playing drums with the band for the first 20 years until switching permanently over to double bass.
