Band Info

Bob Wade – Trumpet, Cornet, Flugelhorn, Clarinet.

Started playing jazz trumpet in Hendon College band, London.
Moved to Dunstable and played in Quintet with Rod Hamer and Brian Peerless (Dobells). Des Healds Burgundy Street Stompers and Show band Eddie Hopkins (ex of Londonaires) London Edition.
Moved to Bristol. Played with Excelsior Band, Six Piece Suite and Reg Quantrill’s quintet (ex Wurzels). Main regular venue “The Duke at King Street”. Moved to South Africa in 1983 and joined Golden City Jazz band and Port Elizabeth based band ”Dixie”. Formed Classic Jazz Masters in 1988 with Dave Mills (ex of Temperence Seven and British All Stars).
CJM comprised over the years the finest traditional jazz players in RSA and in the latter years won awards in Europe (Polish festival in Ilawa)
You Tube CJM.m4v. The band made 4 CD’s over the years and produced and presented several theatre jazz shows.History of jazz 1890-1930 “The Roaring Twenties”. Bob returned to Uk in 2017. Playing with River City and Tees Valley jazz bands based in NE plus occasional gigs with Rae Owens Chicago Teddy Bears. (Liverpool)
