Bev Pegg – Guitarist, comedian and vocalist – Bev started taking piano lessons at the age of seven. He persevered with the music of Beethoven and Chopin, until at the age of fifteen, he heard Lonnie Donegan playing and singing three-cord skiffle tunes with a guitar. Wow! Bev bought an old guitar and said goodbye to the piano, although he now has some regrets that he didn’t keep the piano going as well. Then came Bill Haley, and Elvis. If you had a guitar, there was a good chance girls would be impressed. A most useful instrument! The desire to play tunes more complex than skiffle and rock ‘n’ roll, caused Bev to become influenced by Django Reinhardt’s style. He has been on radio and television many times, appearing with and alongside numerous famous names as diverse as Acker Bilk, Jasper Carrott, George Melly, Robert Plant, Clifford T Ward and even Bill Rank who played on many of Bix’s famous recordings
