New Orleans Jazz Bandits – Back in 1956 Colin Kingswell, formed his first ‘Jazz Bandits’. Over the years the style of the band changed leading up to the inimitable New Orleans Revivalist jazz, recognised and appreciated by jazz enthusiasts and connoisseurs everywhere. Playing New Orleans style music. The band toured the U.K. also Denmark, Holland, Sweden, France, Switzerland and the U.S.A. Led by trombonist Colin Kingwell. After sixty successful years, Colin decided that at the end of 2016 he would graciously retire from his role as Bandleader of The Bandits. The remaining members of the band, with Colin’s blessing, agreed to continue as a unit bearing ‘The Jazz Bandits’ as their name. It was agreed that the band will be run
co-operativly with its continuing comradery and enthusiasm. So ‘The New Orleans Jazz Bandits’ was born in January 2017. Malc Murphy became the booking manager of the band.
