Band Info
Brian White’s King Jazz – In 1990 Brian White had the idea of getting together with his colleague and fellow reed player Goff Dubber to pay tribute to the Mezzrow-Bechet Quintet, and re-introduce mush of that band’s repertoire which clarinettist Mezz Mezzrow had the group record on his own “King Jazz” label, featuring his idol, soprano saxist Sidney Bechet. The result was “Brian White’s King Jazz”, which through the years has built up a reputation for providing a solid danceable swing on its more up-tempo numbers, together with heartfelt renditions of the blues, through its work at clubs and festivals
