Dave Rance’s Rockin’ Chair Band. Dave Rance formed the band around 2000, started at The Bell pub in Westoning (Teddington junction 12 on the M1) where they perform fortnightly on a Monday night. As you can see from the line-up below, members are professional pull-outs from some of the top names in the Jazz and entertainment business like, The Pasedena Roof Orchestra, The New Vaudeville Band, Bob Kerr’s Whoopee Band, The Yerba Celebration Band and the Northside Jazzband. Although traditional jazz is a big part of the band’s repertoire, they do play some of the familiar 20’s, 30’s and 40’s tunes and ballads for a wider field of appeal outside the more traditional jazz scene, but still appealing to true “jazzers”.
