King Jazz” was formed some thirty years ago by clarinetist Brian White to re-create the music of the Mezzrow-Bechet Quintet as recorded on Mezz Mezzrow's own “King Jazz” record label. Now, many years later, Brian has found it increasingly difficult to play sessions a long way from his home in South West London, and his long-time colleague and friend, Goff Dubber, has taken over the leadership of what is now “New King Jazz”, on soprano sax and clarinet, as a tribute to Brian. For this he has recruited clarinettist Karl Wirrmann to play Brian's part, and with a seasoned and swinging rhythm section of Tim Huskisson on piano,
